Community Partners

We partner with other congregations and organizations to love our neighbor and serve God in our immediate and far-reaching communities. If you are interested in taking part in any of our programs, use the contact form for more information.

St. James Episcopal School

St. James School is a tuition-free Episcopal middle school in Northwest Philadelphia that nurtures the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and creative gifts of its students. The energy and spirit of St. James is palpable and encompasses its local neighborhood, serving as a gathering place for community classes and programming, as well as providing free food, basic medical care, job counseling, and other assistance aimed at removing obstacles and adding resources.

You’re invited to carpool with St. Andrew’s on Saturday mornings to volunteer at the Welcome Table, St. James’ weekly free farmers market. There are also opportunities to tutor kids, offer adult education classes, and put specific skills (such as tech and computer, theatre, or legal expertise) to good use. And we always have FUN! Our Rector serves on the board of St. James and is a great person to talk to about how to get more involved.

Food Justice Ministries

We maintain a network of community partnerships that enable hundreds of people beyond our own members to join together through St. Andrew’s to feed our neighbors and build more equitable food systems through community gardens, farmers markets, and free food distribution. Our primary partners include the Interfaith Food Alliance, which provides free food and other services to families in Morrisville; the St. James Welcome Table, which offers a weekly free market and community classes and programs; and Caring for Friends, which distributes frozen meals prepared by parishes and community organizations. We also provided start-up funding for the Yardley Farmers Market to begin accepting SNAP benefits, and provide matching funds every year so that those who use SNAP to pay at the Farmer’s Market get additional credits free to purchase more food.

Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG)

Bucks County Housing Group provides low-income housing as well as transitional housing for those moving out of homelessness. We partner with BCHG in a variety of ways, and joined together with residents of BCHG’s Robert Morris Apartments in Morrisville to create a community garden that has continued to expand and is now entirely maintained by the residents, while serving as a great place to host joint events together to celebrate our shared community.

Interfaith Partnerships

St. Andrew’s partners with other congregations across faith traditions to build community and mutual understanding, and put our shared faith into action.

A few of the ways we do this include:

  • Bucks County Interfaith Coalition on Refugee Resettlement: Since the 1990s, St. Andrew’s has provided welcome and a new home to refugees. For the last 10 years, we have done this in partnership with BCICRR to welcome two Syrian families and now two Afghan family and assist with all aspects of resettlement, the most recent arriving in 2025. Volunteers are always needed!

  • Interfaith Food Alliance: We collect donations of money and non-perishable foods and provide volunteers for our local food pantry in Morrisville.

Recovery and Mental Health Programs

We aim for wholeness and healing for all people, and know how essential it is to find the right support. AA, Alanon, CMA, and other recovery groups meet in our Parish House and we actively seek to provide welcoming space for groups to meet. We also periodically offer retreats on the Spirituality of Recovery that explore the wisdom of the 12-steps for all people.
